Neuromodulators
Botulinum toxin is a substance derived from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, one of the most potent toxins in existence. Botox injections work by blocking chemical signals from nerves that cause muscles to contract. This prevents the injected muscles from tensing up, which can relax and soften wrinkles. Botox is most commonly used to treat facial wrinkles, such as frown lines, crow's feet, and forehead lines, but it can also be used to treat other health conditions such as Migraine headaches and excessive sweating.
The effects of Botox injections are temporary and can last anywhere from three to twelve months, depending on the area being treated. The effects may improve over the first two to three weeks as the Botox works on the muscle fibers. The dosage needed depends on the strength and size of the muscles, but a practitioner can help determine the appropriate amount for each individual.
Dermal Fillers (JUVÉDERM)
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally occurring substance that keeps skin moisturized and soft. JUVÉDERM® fillers are nonsurgical options that contain a modified form of HA. Treatment with JUVÉDERM® products by a licensed specialist provides long-lasting, natural-looking results. In fact, in a survey of aesthetic providers with experience using three or more dermal filler brands, the JUVÉDERM® brand was preferred over two times more than other dermal filler brands. Plus, fillers that use HA have been a top choice for patients—over 90% of filler patients receive an HA dermal filler.
Plexr Plasma Treatment
Plexr Plus is a plasma-based therapy that is extremely safe, minimally invasive, and highly effective. Plasma is the fourth state of matter, made up of ionized particles which are charged. It causes tissues to tighten and boosts collagen production.
The Plexr Plus device creates plasma by ionizing gas particles in the atmosphere. This allows an immediate contraction/tightening and reorganization of the collagen fibers. It also stimulates skin fibroblast cells in the deeper skin dermis, which leads to the formation of new collagen and a renewal of the epidermal tissue.
GLP-1
Medications
GLP-1 medications (ex. Semaglutide, Tirzapatide) were initially developed to help people with type 2 diabetes control their blood sugar levels. Studies of these medications revealed that they had the potential to help with weight loss. We all have GLP-1s in our bodies. These are naturally-occurring hormones which are released from our gut after we eat. The function of GLP-1s is to boost the amount of insulin our bodies make to keep our blood sugar within a normal range, as well as provide the sensation of fullness after a meal. The same effect on insulin regulation and appetite happens when GLP-1 receptor agonists come into play. People who take GLP-1 agonists feel fuller after and between meals, have improved glucose levels, and experience reduced thoughts about food
